Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2014

Abstract

The new modern building of the archducal brewery in Benešov from the years 1896-1897, was already equipped to use electricity with an installed own small power plant. The paper provides answers to questions about the role played introduction electricity for brewing and how the electric current was used in breweries specifically.

Equally important, however, was the installation of electrical outlets in the brewery for the beginnings of electrification of the city. Connection of several public buildings on his grid was at the beginning of its successful implementation.

Context of this step and the later development of electrification of the city before First World War observes the second half of this paper, ending connecting the city network developed within the systematic electrification by Elektrárenský svaz středočeských okresů.
