Abstract
Vitex agnus-castus (chasteberry, monk's pepper) is a shrub or small tree originating from Southern Europe and Western Asia. It has been used for centuries to treat many hormone-related gynecological conditions.
The article summarizes knowledge of medicinal use of this plant, therapeutic effects and possible interactions and side effects.
