Abstract

Information and communication technologies (ICT) are an integral part of the educational process. The time of massive and often hasty acquisition of ICT equipment and Internet connections for schools has already passed.

Teachers and chemistry teacher students are methodically supported and encouraged to use various ICT applications (teaching methods and forms) efficiently. The use of new ICT elements and the ability to implement them in chemistry education are therefore very important and ongoing issue of chemistry didactics.

It is closely related to the technological and pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) - an important competency of chemistry teachers in the 21st century. In the paper, the results of the survey focused on attitudes of chemistry teacher students at selected universities in the Czech Republic to the use of ICT applications are presented and discussed.
