Abstract

The study focuses on the notion of school education and discipline at the trivial schools in the last quarter of the 18th century. The author inspired by Michel Foucault tries to show the ways of punishing and rewarding of children, affecting body and influence children's way of thinking, behaviour and acting at the school institution.

He associates the category of human body with hygiene, various health protecting measures and limitations and notions such as purity, modesty and diligence then.
