Abstract
Idioms are complex units which bear a compositional meaning and are usually difficult to translate into other languages. Sometimes they are even defined as untransferable in terms of the preservation of all their qualities, but in practice it turns out that in many cases there is a kind of equivalent in the target language.
The paper introduces a basic research into the matter.
