Abstract

The author is interested both with the perception of Russian reality by Central Europeans, and their adaptation to the Russian standards of behaviour. Even he tackles the question to what extent was the establishment of the Russian Academy of Sciences specific, whether the Academy kept bringing quality outcomes comparable with West European scientists and innovators, and to what extent the Central Europeans in Russian services contributed to the process of scientific cognition of Siberia and the Far East and to the establishment of contacts with neighbouring countries.
