Abstract

On the basis of establishing a single operating value for the simple present tense and the present form of the ESTAR + -NDO Spanish periphrasis according to the principles of Adamczewski's metaoperational grammar, the possible effects of meaning produced by the different variables in the enunciative context or the communicative situation will be discussed. The analysis will also focus on the role that the speaker can play in the selection of the position regarding the information piece, as a strategy that allows him / her to create expressive effects leading to a better management of interpersonal relationships, this to corroborate the central role of the speaker as a mediator between the world and the discourse.
