Soil carbon quantification in podzol subsoil as an attempt to refine soil carbon inventories in the Czech Republic

Abstrakt

Podzols are well known for transport and accumulation of organic carbon in their subsoil. Soil carbon inventory in Czech Republic accounts soil organic carbon in the upper 30 cm of soil only.

It means that the carbon in the subsoil is not included in the inventory. We made an attemp to calculate and visualise the amount of soil organic carbon in the subsoil to show how much carbon was not included in the inventory.
