Modern day slavery

Abstract

Modern-day Slavery. Slavery or taking advantage (or in earlier times ownership) of people to acquire labour is a problem that has plagued humanity since ancient times.

So-called, modern-day slavery is most often associated with developing regions (for example countries of the Persian Gulf, southeast Asia or Africa). Some forms of slavery, however, are found in developed countries as well (e.g. abuse of immigrant children, abuse of women and the exploitation of foreign workers by labour agencies) and Czechia is - unfortunately - no exception.
