Cushing's syndrome is a rare disorder and severe disorder associated with significantly increased morbidity and mortality. Psychological and psychiatric disturbances and disorders are an integral part of its clinical presentation.
They can unfavourably influence a course of the disease from prodromal phase through overt clinical manifestation, treatment and recovery phase and can even persist after successful cure. It is therefore necessary to actively search for those disturbances and early intervention can significantly improve prognosis and quality of life of patients with Cushings's syndrome.
Present article reviews clinical presentation of Cushing's syndrome with the stress of psychological and psychiatric disorders.
