The prosody is an important factor in the perception of the discourse. When it is in accordance with the communication aim, the communication becomes more efficient and clear.
In the discourse of teachers, the prosody affects the teaching process and takes part at the class climate. Our contribution analyses the prosody of addresses by the name of pupils, realized by teachers.
We compared the prosodic realizations in several schools with different teaching programs. It comes out that the prosody used by a teacher in the address to a pupil can be symptomatic for the class climate.
