Nephrology, similarly as other medical specialities, has been facing to many ethical issues and problems. In past, the extreme ethical problems were associated with insuficient dialysis capacities.
Fortunately, this burden has been solved. Nowadays, there is growing need to discuss the dialysis withdrawal and witholding.
There are ethical issues also in clinical nephrology (for example, the availability of biological therapy). A lot of ethical issues are actual also in transplantology.
