Abstract

The text focuses on the reasons the Czechoslovak Olympic Committee refused to take part in the XXIII Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1984. It clearly shows that it was a "political" vendetta on the part of the Soviet Union, which the leadership of the Czechoslovak Communist Party did not dare to contradict.
