The life of serfs in the 18th century: fate or choice? Towards the demographic, economic, social and family aspects of the life of serfs at the Manor of Horní Police

Abstract

The book deals with the life cycles of serfs in 18th-century Bohemia and with the role of economic, demographic and social factors forming people's life cycles. The author examines the issue on a sample of serfs from the North Bohemian Manor of Horní Police.

Her research is based on continuous series of the lists of serfs starting from 1709.
