Abstract
This chapter aims to confront community media's participatory potentialities and realities with a strand of political theory that sees conflict as the main characteristic of the social. The aim of this confrontation is to further enrich community media theory with a perspective that takes difference as a starting point, and that avoids homogenising particular social fields.
