The current form of rules (162.6) about false starts, was formulated in 2012. This rule greatly changed during last decade.
Last formulation of this rule seems to be very incorrect. The aim of this study is to evaluate the rule based on data of 23 participants of Indoor Czech Championship 2012.
We found that the notes of this rule are in contrary. We found that upper limbs loses contact with the track in an average of 73 ms after first lower limbs movement, claim based on our measurements.
This formulation of rule provides extremely space for discussion and for disputes. The zero tolerance rule was more acceptable, by our opinion.
