At the end of the First World War (in the context of emergence of new states in Central Europe) we are witnessing a dynamism in using the cultural dimension of diplomacy. Exemplary are the relations between France and Czechoslovakia.
The book throw up the traditional framework of political chronology and maps more than fifty years of the rich and turbulent history. From the time of Czech ""frankofilie"" through the Twenties to the Munich events and years 1945 and 1950.
It studies the cultural and historical dimension of bilateral relations, also examines the direct influence of France on the formation of the Czechoslovak elites through the French Institute and the French secondary school in Prague. The attention is oriented to Czech secondary sections and the use of scholarships.
The book systematically confronts Czech and French sources.
