The paper gives a brief description of inquiry based science education (IBSE) and refers to it as to a possible way how to deal with some problems in science education in elementary and secondary schools. It describes individual steps in the implementation of tasks that fulfill aspects of IBSE.
Some selected tasks of the general and inorganic chemistry curriculum are also presented in the paper and their implementation is described. The paper deals with the tasks of the dissertation and the intended methods of the research related to implementing the IBSE activities in chemistry teaching.
