Abstract

This article concerns by social phenomenon expressing a fact a man has an inclination to hide under a mask. Under the mask a man lives his own life whiles outside him plays a certain role.

This situation takes an own forfeit. It takes the forfeit not only at the psychical life but at the social relationships and in relation of man with God as well.

Despite this that the issue is subject of sociology or psychology also theology has to say something to this. Theology considers a man as the image of God.

The man is according to book Genesis entrusted by guardianship of world by God. If a man hides under the mask he plays another role and hi is not authentic.

He is not able to realize himself. He is not able to realize the image of God which takes inside him.

It does not towards authentic manifestation of man, but it is only an imaginary perform. An inspiration to reflexion of this issue is ancient theatre expressing a basic human reality.

In ancient Greek thought was not a space to free an authentic manifestation of man but necessity only. Greek thought does not a term for express a person.

Greek drama expressed the inclination of man to hide under the mask where a man could be a person. But the hiding of man under the mask means that a man does unable share with others or with God.

Theology especially patristic tradition shows resolving of this issue: take away the mask and anew build relationships with neighbors and God.
