Abstract
In the present invention, there is disclosed a two-vial insulin pen comprised of a body (1) arranged for insertion two vials (2) therein with different type of insulin. An interconnecting part (3) with inside located interconnecting tubes (4) is disposed underneath the body (1).
The interconnecting tubes (4) are provided at their one end with a piercing pin (14) while at the other end, they are connected with a mixing chamber (5) with an injection needle (6) inserted therein. Pressure pistons (9) with piston rods (10) are disposed above the space for location of the vials (2) in the body (1), wherein the pressure pistons (9) are interconencted with a controllable system (11) for pressing thereof into the vials (2).
At the point of connection of the interconnecting tubes (4) with the mixing chamber (5), there are generally situated backflow preventers (16). The controlled system (11) of pressing the pressure pistons (9) into the vials (2) is possible to make in various designs.
