Development of teacher training curriculum

Abstract

This paper aims to reflect on the development of functions of educational courses, key curriculum and educational methodologies in relation to the development of the whole study programme, as well as in relation to the expected and verified quality of professional competencies of future teachers and in relation to the development in students' needs. This development will be demonstrated in the example of one of the final pedagogical courses of the Teacher Training for Primary Schools study branch, the course Topical Issues in Education MINUS SIGN Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking in Primary Schools.

The paper will also look into the role of integration of knowledge and experiences gained by students. It will consider the role of key subject matter, which embody the constructivist learning and constructivist teaching methods.

Functional teaching methods will be presented together with examples of the description of complex educational situations.
