Succession to State responsibility in the ICJ judgment concerning Application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide ( Croatia v. Serbia)

Abstract

On 3 February 2015 the International Court of Justice handed down a long-awaited judgment in the dispute between Croatia and Serbia , regarding alleged violations of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide ( 1948). This decision closes a number of disputes in connection with the disintegration of the former Yugoslavia and the tragic armed conflict that accompanied the breakup.
