Abstract
A combination therapy of hypertension - especially medication that affect the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, calcium channel blockers and diuretics, in a fixed combination, is the gold standard. The different mechanisms of action of individual substances, these combinations of antihypertensives significant synergistic and additive antihypertensive effect leads to a significant decrease in blood pressure and a lower incidence of side effects of the individual components.
Prescribing fixed combination also increases the compliance of patients. Offering a wide range of doses of each component, then allows their administration to patients with various degrees of arterial hypertension.
