Patočka in his lecture on Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit (Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague 1948/49) referes to Hyppolite and profounder Kojève. Kojève laid bare Hegel's anti-orthodox worldview.
Hegel is not just another philosopher. Her revolts againts Christianity and his Phenomenology is an anti-Bible.
Hegel's Phenomenology gives all essential Christian motives a framework which Kojève described as atheistic but Patočka avoided doing so. Patočka knows Hegel is a philosopher of god, of course impersonal god, that becomes aware through the man.
Thereby we can point out, that while accepting the ideas of others Patočka developes them independently.
