Pharmacokinetics and metabolism of new long-acting insulin glargine U300

Abstract

The aim of this chapter is to review pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic characteristics of insuline glargine U300 and describe its mechanism of prolonged action. We will also discuss the results of clinical trials that compared insulin glargine U300 with glargine U100 and discuss the perspectives of its use in the treatment of diabetes.
