The article deals with the circulation of the most famous play by Herman Heijermans, Op hoop van zegen (The Good Hope, 1900), in the Czech lands. It turned out that Op hoop van zegen, as well as another play, Allerzielen, was translated and staged in Czech many times, by both professional and amateur theatre companies.
In the article we offer a survey of the performances between 1901 and 1973 (when it was played for the last time). Using reviews of the performances we try to shed more light on the reception of Heijermans in the Czech lands.
