Abstract
In Byzantine literature has survived several texts parodying religious forms. The texts are different periods (beginning 11th century), of varying scope and language level, and probably for different audiences.
Is there any tradition of parodying the sacred texts? Is a parody a part of the Greek mentality or is it just fads?
