Abstract
This article relates to theatre pedagogy (in the text shorten to MJT). This method is used for teaching Czech language to foreigners.
MJT is based on using theatre elements to achieve language-teaching objectives. This text introduces a hierarchy of language-teaching objectives in MJT from which the most important is the development of communication competencies.
Even though all classes are focused on the development of language skills, MJT focuses on sociolinguistic competences, discourse competences, sociocultural competences and social and strategic competences.
