The Uber has been active in Czech Republic, primarily in Prague, since August 2014. The company offered exclusively the UBERBlack services, but since November 2014, also the UBERpop services has been quickly spreading.
The two main concerns predominantly related to the second type of this alternative transportation in the Czech Republic are, similarly to other European countries: how does the transportation company satisfy the national safety rules requiring vehicle safety inspections, and secondly how does it comply with registration, confirmation requirement, and other taxation rules. Surprisingly, the public discussion neglects the issue of adequate insurance to cover people injured in automobile accidents.
