Abstract
The paper briefly outlines key moments from the history of Faculty of Science of German University in Prague, especially from the history of its Mathematical Institute. It pays attention in historical, political and professional content to personal and professional fates of individual mathematicians who spent longer or shorter part of their active lives at the German University in Prague.
It recalls the level of teaching mathematics from 1920 until 1939, i.e. in the period of the biggest bloom and boom of German mathematical community in Prague. The main goal of this paper is to give a short analysis of the preserved document titled Richtlinien für das Studium der Mathematik als Lehrfach an Mittelschulen (1938) and to introduce some remarks for thought.
