Peasant versus Duke - the first direct presidential elections in the Czech Republic

Abstract

The topic of the text is the first direct presidential elections in the Czech Republic, which took place in January 2013. It presents the course and the specificity of election campaign the two candidates who entered the second round of elections - Miloš Zeman and Karel Schwarzenberg.

Based on the chosen forms of communication - to the greatest extent used in the process of communication with voters (outdoor advertising, TV advertising, Internet) - were shown the main, taken in the campaign themes, the mechanisms used for their presentation and the effects that they have brought. Shown in this way electoral strategies also allow to show the specificity of political communication in the Czech Republic.
