Third Dimension at School - Orientation in 3D and Solving Solid Geometry Problems

Publication at Faculty of Mathematics and Physics |
2015

Abstract

The paper discusses new didactic approaches and topics in teaching solid geometry that arise from the availability of didactic 3D software. This brings new ways how to develop spatial imagination.

Presented examples show new approach to ""classical"" tasks in a 3D view and draw attention to ""forgotten"" properties of solids. Manipulation within 3D environment emphasizes main ideas of a problem and 3D spatial relations required for solving it.

Thus 3D software allows us to solve a new type of tasks - construction tasks and problems in space.
