Abstract
This German scholar born in North Bohemia was full Professor of Classics at Deutsche Universität at Prague until its closing in 1945. He was specialized in Egypt's Late antiquity religion, mainly in magic.
A number of his works has been reprinted in recent times; a continuing standard work is Plutarch über Isis und Osiris (1940-41; repr. 1991).
