Although (human) creativity is probably most often related to the arts, or science and technology, this paper opts for a different and at the first sight perhaps obvious perspective. It focuses on the significance of spirituality for overcoming the structures and systems which impede and suppress life.
Drawing from the premise that the meaning of human creativity is to foster life in its manifold forms, the present paper argues that spirituality, or more precisely, transformative spirituality, as introduced in the Together towards Life document, is creative energy which motivates and nurtures human efforts for life in its fullness. It seeks to show that spirituality also plays a broader social role within human creativity and that it has social, politoval, economic and ecological implications.
