This article characterizes first Edith Stein's notion of the person in the context of Edmund Husserl's standpoint. Secondly, the result of this explanation will be confronted with Max Scheler's analyses of the personal, and thirdly, against the backdrop of Husserl's and Scheler's dealing with this topic, Stein's achievement of characterizing the personal and its specific kind of 'identity' will be summarized.
