Abstract
This article explores the South Bohemia Region's involvement in cross-border cooperation with neighboring regions. Cross-border cooperation presents a development opportunity for borderland areas, which are often peripheral in nature.
The article describes the development of cross-border cooperation in South Bohemia after 1989 and emphasizes significant changes in its form, orientation and principles.
