Doctrinal and Social Context of Non-Violent Attitudes of the Jains and the Quakers

Abstract

The paper provides view on Jain and Quaker concepts of non-violence and indicates similar and different elements of them. The closest attention is paid to to the comparison of the doctrinal ground and the scope of the concepts of this ethical maximum in each tradition.
