The collective monograph reviews the development of the field of comparative education and its methodology. In first part of the book the development of the field of comparatoive education as a global field with its international relations its characterized, further Czech comparative studies in last 12 years are critically reviewed and methodology charaterized.
In the second part of the book comparative studies of educational phenomena are provided. They tackle issues of quality pre-school education, comparatrive analyses of the curricula, processes and outcomes of education and also quality of teachers is tackled, with emphasis on analysis of professional teachers' standards in Anglo-Saxon world.
Comparative studies also include some methodological inspiration for a field, including use of international indicators of quality and video-studies as a typical tool for comparing the processes of education.
