Health education in primary and secondary education - curriculum project vs school practice

Abstract

The paper provides an insight into the current state of integrating Health Education into primary and secondary schools. Results of the research conducted between 2013 and 2015 are presented mapping the relations between the projected curriculum and its realization in selected schools.

The paper defines factors complicating the implementation of the planned curriculum into school practice. The key issues identified are low time allocation of Health Education in secondary schools causing unsystematic approach and a lack of qualified teachers.
