The paper deals with the medieval archaeology of tillage tools. Finds from the 8th-9th centuries from the area of the Czech republic demonstrate asymmetrical ttillage with lights tools, equipped with relatively large coulters.
These ploughs were essentially different from heavy mould-board ploughs known from archaeological finfs from around 1300 AD. The second part of the paper is devoted to spade cultivation, the third tool discussed is the scythe.
