Abstract

The author focuses on the translation of comedy, as well as on the complexity involved in the translation of audiovisual material, where the translation must be based both on the text and the visual elements of the film. Highlighting several comedy translation examples, the author illustrates pitfalls involved in translation, exploring the nature of these problems and provides possible solutions.
