In 2014, 230 years have passed since the appointment of the first auxiliary historical sciences professor at Prague University and also 50 years since the provisions of a separate department auxiliary sciences at the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University in Prague. This study reflects the aforementioned anniversary, which became the reason for the conference, Auxiliary Historical Sciences in contemporary historiography and archives, whose implementation was involved, along with the Department of National Archives and the Archives of Prague, ie the institution with which the Department has maintained a very close working relationship already decades.
The conference will be held from 22 to 24 October 2014 in the lecture hall of the National Archives, where for three days, met representatives of scientific institutions from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. The contents of contributions has been divided into blocks: 1.
