The article analysis preserved building plans of several buildings of the castle complex in Protivín in South Bohemian. These 18th century plans document the gradual modification of the farmstead situated within the castle complex into the "administrative centre of the estate" with flats and offices of aristocratic officers and their scribes and their "life space".
These historic plans illustrate well not only the appearance but to a certain extent also function of individual rooms of the officers' flats. The proposed results can be well compared with results of similar analysis od period plan documentation and other archive evidence from other estates of The House of Schwarzenberg.
