Hormonal treatment of premenopausal patients with breast cancer

Abstract

Approximately one third of women with breast cancer is premenopausal. In patients with positivity of hormonal receptors we should consider the hormonal treatment, too.

The standard treatment is the application of tamoxifen. Recently published studies evaluated the importance of the ovarian suppression and aromatase inhibitors.

This review deals with current hormonal therapy in premenopausal women with breast cancer.
