Abstract
The essay is concerned with Grand Master of the Knights of the Cross Jiří Ignác Pospíchal (1635 - 1699), a native of Polná. For his erudition , he was chosen by the Grand Master Harrach the General Provost and de facto led the order instead of another Grand Master Waldstein.
In 1699, Archbischop Breuner chose him as a candidate for the suffragan; however, he died during the process in August.
