Abstract

This paper focuses on the problem of reading pre-literacy, which is from the perspective of lifelong learning an extremely important area, since the preschool age lays the foundations for not only reading, but also a number of other pre-literacy skills, while it is also a period of the development of the child's personality, their motivation for their own learning. The aim of the study is to characterize the conception of the pre-literacy abilities in the Czech preschool education, the possibilities of further development in the preschool age and to analyze the development of related terminology.
