Twenty years ago the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Charles University in Prague established a Josef Vavrousek Award in ""Human Values and Civilization Development Problems."" Since then, almost 270 students presented their work to compete for this award. This anniversary publication is not only a compilation of the works awarded.
It is also a reflection on the state of theoretical economics, whose paradigm - the economic development - is being criticised for having adverse effect on the nature and on social relations. It demonstrates the change of values on the way to find who we (as a human being) are, what is our fate, our mission and our happiness here on Earth.
