Abstract
The study is dedicated to Coronation Journey of Charles IV. to Italy which started in spring of 1355. It depicts its progress, the attention is given to important events which occurred in its course.
During his Coronation Journey to Rome Charles IV. gained a lot of relics which enriched the Prague Cathedral. Besides this fact the italian journey had undoubtedly a certain influence also on the process of buiding of the Prague Cathedral itself and on the new wave of Charles᾽s imperial representation and court art.
