The cathegory of beauty is not explicitly thematized in the Hebrew Bible, yet there is possible to specify several areas of God's and man's actitivity, in which beauty finds a significant role. Among them the Israelite cult is the most distinctive.
Some Hebrew terms from the point of view of semantics belong to the cathegory of beauty. After presentation of the vocabulary and the cultic aspect of the concept of beauty, the text deals with an interior relation between the cult and ethics, where beauty can be considered as its common nominator.
In the conclusion the author of the chapter focuses on the way, how this subject matter is elaborated and developed in the New Testament writings.
