Ambrose of Milan (d. 397) often affirms that there is only one way leading to God and to the unification with him: the way of faith in Christ's divine Sonship. At the same time, though, we find in his theology a variety of approaches to the Biblical text and affirmation that the fullness of the mystery of Christ cannot be exhausted.
The paper focuses on Ambrose's notion of the relationship between the plurality of exegetical approaches to the knowledge of the Word and the unity of faith.
